Thankful Thursday... Last Flowers of the Season

My garden is one of my favorite places in the world. It's not a very big garden, but it is "my" garden and I love it. Every October I am a little sad to see the flowers begin their hibernation and the leaves fall from their branches. To celebrate a wonderful season of arrangements, I decided to cut one last bouquet of hydrangeas for my table. Where once there were light greens and shades of blue I now fine a darker greens, browns and rich tones of burgundy, deep purple and reds.

So tell me... what are you thankful for this Thursday?

Pumpkin fun with Things 1 & 2

For those of you who do not follow me on Twitter, I lovingly refer to my boys as Thing 1 and Thing 2. They know I call them that and they think it's rather funny. That said, here's a little peek at what the three of us were up to today in prepping for Halloween 2011! More to come...

What are your favorite Halloween decorations?

Latest Logo Design & the London Riots

As you will recall a few months ago there were devastating riots in London. Innocent people lost their businesses, jobs, property and more. So many people wanted to help, myself included. Where best to turn for information than social networking. In my case, I turned to Twitter. My friend Zoe of Zoe and Drew organized the group Riot Raffle, "a creative community coming together to support other independent businesses in a time of crisis"
I decided to donate a Logo Design Package and the business who bid highest for the package was Gill Oglesby Jewellery. Here is the results:
It was terrific working with Gill. Please take a moment to visit her website. There are so many lovely pieces of handmade jewelry to see!
Once again, social networking goes above and beyond with the help of so many creative, talented and giving people.

Color Inspiration

I love browsing Pinterest for color inspiration. Most often that inspiration is found in a photo of something from nature. Today's color inspiration came from a gorgeous Crown Tail fish. My friend, Julie (a.k.a. TopazPearleGirl), had pinned the photo to her board "All Creatures Great & Small". As soon as I saw the photo, I knew I had to create a color palette. Here is the end result.
