October Photo Challenge Is Here!

Hi photog-friends! Can you believe October is here? Whew! September flew. I'm pretty proud of my September photo taking. I think I was only late on 2 of the subjects. Probably a record for me.

So here are October's subjects. If you're new to the photo challenge fun, the rules (or lack of) are simple. Take a photo each day of October using the list below for your subjects. Post on twitter or Instagram using #OctPhoto so we can find you. We're a very laid-back group, so if you miss a few, don't worry about it. We still love ya. Feel free to post to our flickr group, that would be fun too!

If you're on twitter and would like a daily reminder of the subject matter, just let me know in the comments or just tweet me. While you're there, go ahead and follow Easton Place and The Coastal Chick!

Halloween 2010

Our halloween party was a huge success! We hosted 70+ people and it appeared fun was had by all. Our dear friend, Shannon Calvert of Hire Imagination was among the guests and he was gracious enough to take photos of the night! Please take a moment to visit his site.

Halloween Menu - 2010

As you may recall from one of my previous posts, my family and I are hosting a neighborhood halloween party. You can read about it here. As a follow up, I'm sharing with you the menu I have planned for the evening. Since there will be ghosts and goblins of all ages attending, I designed the menu to suit most anyone. I wanted to insure was that no utensils be used. Since this will be a somewhat large party with people walking around, mingling, dancing, tricking and treating, I thought it best to serve "finger foods". I am making fun labels with halloween names for each item; like the blue corn chips will be labels "Bat Wings".  Tell me in the comments below what are some of the fun things you're doing for halloween. Are you hosting a get together?

(almost) Annual Halloween Party

We moved into our current home about 10 years ago.  It was January 31 and the day was a typical cold and snowy New England Winter's day.  I had a two-year-old as well as a newborn and I knew no one in our tree lined neighborhood.  It took a good six months to really start to mingle with the neighbors, but during those six months I discovered we'd moved onto a street that had several small children and babies!  When October rolled around I decided to host a neighborhood Halloween party!  We've thrown a bash of some sort or another nearly every year since.  Occasionally we've skipped a year here and there, but basically we do our best to host something for the neighborhood kids and grown-ups.  We missed last year, so this year we're trying to make up for loss time.  Here is the invitation I designed for the big night!

Here are some photos of Halloween past...

What sort of fun things will you be doing this year for Halloween?  Let me know in the comments!
