lo・go
(noun)
1. a symbol or other design adopted by an organization to identify its products, uniform, vehicles, etc.

Ah yes, logo design! One of my favorite things to do is create an identity or logo for a client. Today's logo reveal is for the talented Chef Jenny Manseau and her site Creative Cooking Gluten Free.

EA Stewart, New Logo Reveal

One of my favorite things about design work, is collaborating with a client to create something uniquely theirs. This might result in a custom piece of stationery, an invitation suite or new web image to name a few. Today's reveal was a collaboration I did with EA Stewart, also known on twitter and Facebook as The Spicy RD. EA came to me a few months ago asking for my help with a new logo and social media buttons for her website which was getting a complete renovation. Her lovely new site is now live and I'm beyond excited to show you the details!

I love the fresh, bright colors EA chose. They fit the name "Spicy RD" perfectly! In the comments below, tell me what you think about this new logo design and the social networking buttons. If you're interested in working on a logo project together, contact me with the details!

Please be sure to stop by The Spicy RD site, twitter and Facebook and tell her I said "hi"!

Product Packaging: Sweet & Simple

One of the offerings in the Easton Place Branding Shop is the Custom Packaging Design option. This is for businesses who are looking for assistance with their product packaging. You might be looking for a fresh look for your product line, you might be presenting a brand new product or even adding a new item to your existing line of goods. Whatever your packaging needs are, Easton Place can help you.

I'm so excited to share a packaging design recently completed for Sweet & Simple, a lovely baking company located in Southport, Connecticut. The owner/head baker of the company, Michelle Jaffee, and I worked together to create packaging for a new line of granola that will be launching in the future. (I'll keep you posted on the launch date!)

There were a few elements that needed to be included: The existing Sweet & Simple logo, the tagline and the daisy element often seen on the company's current packaging. I'm in love with the results! What do you think?

If you have any questions about product packaging design in general or in working with Easton Place, contact us. The new year is just around the corner... it's a great time for a fresh new look! There is one design spot open in November and only one design spot will be scheduled for December.

Recent Events: September 25, 2012

Hi friends. How have you been? I believe it's been a while since I posted a basic "what's going on in the studio" post. I thought today would be a good time for one.

It's been non-stop busy in the studio for weeks, and I love it! Some of my work is still in the "hush-hush" stage, but I promise, when I am able to share it with you, I will!

I've had several custom designs over the past month. I completed a Bat Mitzvah suite (pictured below). I always feel blessed to be a part other's life events!

I've been working on a fun logo for Martha's Vineyard Adult Continuing Education. That one is just about ready to reveal. If you follow my blog, you know the vineyard is near and dear to my heart.

I added personalized trays to the shop. If you missed that announcement, you can read about them here.

I designed a custom "Moustache Themed" invitation last week that is crazy fun and will be added to the shop soon! Here's a peek...

(street address and phone number have been removed from the photo for privacy)

And the final bit of news is really more of an "almost" event. I was approached by the people who create the gift bags for the Emmys. They wanted to include Easton Place petite cards for each of the 800 recipients! What?? That's crazy, right?! But I had to say no thank you... this year. It's tough to say no to such an exciting offer, but it was the right thing for me to do this year. I had a very short amount of time to prepare them, and I didn't want to rush such an important opportunity. I have several clients in queue, and I would have had to ask them to wait in order to fulfill the Emmy job. I just wasn't willing to do that to them. I am so honored to be asked, and I'm hoping the offer comes again... with a bit more leeway! Of course my first question to them when they approached me, "How did you find Easton Place?"... I was told their research department found my shop and they were particularly fond of the "Fun Facts about Ms. Wunder" as well as all the paper lovelies! Gotta love that!

Well, that's a bit about my goings-on... What's new in your corner of the world? Tell me in the comments below! Thanks for stopping by.

hugs,
-Patti

Brand New Brand?

What an amazing couple of weeks I've had since launching the new Easton Place! The amount of positive feedback, support and business has been almost overwhelming. Thank you to all of you who've given me support throughout the launch.

I'm writing to let you know that our Branding Shop is now open at Easton Place!  As promised at the launch of the new site, the month of May would bring the opening of Easton Place BrandingLogoWeb and Illustration.  I will continue to add branding options and "a la carte" items over the next couple of weeks, but for now you can get an idea of what is available.  If you need a custom branding package created for your specific needs, I'm happy to do that for you!  For example, you may want some of the elements in the full branding package, but not all of the elements offered.  I'll customize your branding package and price it accordingly.

As of today, June is fully booked, July has one opening, possibly two, and August has two available custom design spots.  Email me as soon as possible if you're interested in reserving any one of these spaces as they do tend to fill quickly.  I can hardly wait to share with you my latest custom designs. Two projects are custom invitation suites and one is a complete branding and website redo!  I'm loving all three of these projects and will share them with you as soon as I can.

I hope you're having a lovely week. In the comment section below, let me know if you have any suggestions for a la carte items that should be included in the new branding shop.  I'm thinking of adding the option for a custom wax stamp design. I adore the Easton Place wax seal... do you?

xoxo

Drawing Board News

I'm excited to tell you about the latest designs to leave the Easton Place Designs studio! If you follow me on Twitter, you might already know about the mini suite I created for Liz over at Shorely Chic. Together Liz and I designed an invitation for her upcoming wedding rehearsal dinner. I then translated the design to coordinating thank you notes. I loved working with Liz and I have a feeling it's not the last paper lovely we create together! The invitation and the thank you notes are now available in my shop.

These past few weeks I've been working on a few logo designs. First up is the design I did for Catherine R. of "Moms in Weston". Catherine was looking for something clean and simple using the colors blue, green and white. I see she's already updated her twitter avatar! I'm anxious to see her new blog update as well. Here is the logo design...

My final "show 'n tell" today is the logo I did for the lovely Kristen Waterbury of Kristen Waterbury Photography. I love working with new businesses. It's so fun to be a part of the excitement of it all! Watch for Kristen's website in the future. Until then, you can "like" her business page on facebook.

Over the next few weeks I'll be working on the finishing touches on the Holiday 2011 line!! Stay tuned. Better yet, subscribe to my monthly newsletter. You'll be sure to hear the holiday news when it's hot off the press.

New Design Client Sneak Peek

The past week or so I've had the pleasure of working with India Rose of Martha's Vineyard Wedding Studio. We were introduced on twitter by our mutual twitter friend, Nelly Rodriguez of "Cooking With Books". You might recall I created Nelly's blog banner a few months ago.

India is starting a new business on Martha's Vineyard and she came to me for logo design, letterhead, business cards, web and blog design. While she and I put the final touches on everything, I'm giving you a look at the design palette and logo. I love her color combination of Aqua, Silver and Black. Classic yet modern don't you think?

I'll keep you posted as to when the new website and blog are launched! A special thank you to Nelly. One of these days maybe we'll have a "tweet-up" on the vineyard!

Latest Logo Design Client - Tamara Tovey Photography

I've been offering Logo Design and Custom Work in my shop for the past year. The designs range from Etsy and Blogger banners to watermarks, Branding Designs to Business Holiday Cards. As with all of my custom designs, once I create something uniquely yours, you own it! You can use the design on any number of items from my shop like notecards, stickers and invitations. Or you can use it on your website, blog, twitter account and facebook! And should you need to use the design through a third party like Moo.com, I'll be happy to set up a layout that you can submit for printing.

I thought I'd give you a peek at the design process with the help of my latest design client, Tamara Tovey Photography. Tamara was a terrific client in every step of the process starting with the questionnaire I asked her to fill out,  to the finished product.
