Latest Custom Designs: Birthdays and a Graduation

The overwhelming majority of the invitations I sell are 100% custom. A client will contact me with an idea and then I get to run with it! Today I'm excited to be able to share with you three of my latest custom invitations. The first I designed a couple months ago for Annie's 2nd birthday! She is about to have an "Exploration Party" with her friends! How fun! I've been working with Annie's mom, Sarah, for a few years now, designing invitations and party accessories for birthdays, baby namings etc. It's always a joy to be asked back to design for a family event. Thank you, Sarah, and Happy Birthday, Annie!

The second birthday invitation I'm sharing with you is for Ella, who is turning one! Yay, Ella! For this invitation suite the theme includes puppies, pink and a chalkboard look. Ella is very fond of dogs so it seemed fitting. Happy Birthday, Ella!

The third invitation is for a high school graduation party for (another) sweet Annie! Short back story: I first met Annie's mother, Suzi and father, David, when my family moved during my 7th grade year of school.  Suzi and I first met in band. We both played flute. Suzi, David and I continued going to school together through high school and we all three attended Purdue University! To take this friendship one step closer, Suzi and I were "sisters" at Purdue, both pledging at a cooperative house named Twin Pines! So this was an extra special design for me. Congratulations to Annie and her parents for reaching this special day!

Wishing Annie, Ella, Annie and all three families wonderful celebrations. Thank you for allowing me to be a little part of your big day! Much love and happiness to all of you.

If you would like to have a custom invitation designed by Easton Place, email me with details! I'd love to work with you.

Cheers!

Latest Custom Work: Baby Ella's Announcements

I posted on Facebook the other day: "One of the many things I love about my work: getting to share in other people's sweet life events." Today's post is about the latest custom birth announcement I've designed. Friends were recently blessed with a beautiful baby girl and asked me to design the birth announcements! Here are the results.

  Love, love, love...

I'm also currently working on custom photo thank you cards for one of my favorite brides (to be revealed soon), and a set of really fun stationery and business cards for a client who's about to be published! So THIS is one of the many reasons I love my job... I get to be excited for people's fun life events, and design something special for them too!

If you'd like to work together on a design for your life event (birth announcement, wedding invitation, anniversary etc.), you can contact me here.

Recent Events: September 25, 2012

Hi friends. How have you been? I believe it's been a while since I posted a basic "what's going on in the studio" post. I thought today would be a good time for one.

It's been non-stop busy in the studio for weeks, and I love it! Some of my work is still in the "hush-hush" stage, but I promise, when I am able to share it with you, I will!

I've had several custom designs over the past month. I completed a Bat Mitzvah suite (pictured below). I always feel blessed to be a part other's life events!

I've been working on a fun logo for Martha's Vineyard Adult Continuing Education. That one is just about ready to reveal. If you follow my blog, you know the vineyard is near and dear to my heart.

I added personalized trays to the shop. If you missed that announcement, you can read about them here.

I designed a custom "Moustache Themed" invitation last week that is crazy fun and will be added to the shop soon! Here's a peek...

(street address and phone number have been removed from the photo for privacy)

And the final bit of news is really more of an "almost" event. I was approached by the people who create the gift bags for the Emmys. They wanted to include Easton Place petite cards for each of the 800 recipients! What?? That's crazy, right?! But I had to say no thank you... this year. It's tough to say no to such an exciting offer, but it was the right thing for me to do this year. I had a very short amount of time to prepare them, and I didn't want to rush such an important opportunity. I have several clients in queue, and I would have had to ask them to wait in order to fulfill the Emmy job. I just wasn't willing to do that to them. I am so honored to be asked, and I'm hoping the offer comes again... with a bit more leeway! Of course my first question to them when they approached me, "How did you find Easton Place?"... I was told their research department found my shop and they were particularly fond of the "Fun Facts about Ms. Wunder" as well as all the paper lovelies! Gotta love that!

Well, that's a bit about my goings-on... What's new in your corner of the world? Tell me in the comments below! Thanks for stopping by.

hugs,
-Patti

Just Breathe...

It was an amazing week here at the Easton Place studio. I finalized details with my new online shop and had a fabulous launch day on Thursday! All the excitement of the launch (and mostly preparing for the launch) was emotionally taxing. Yesterday I took a walk around the property and used my "real camera" to take a few photos of all the natural launches happening throughout the garden. It was a much needed time to "just breathe". With my trusty companion Aggie, at my side, I was able to put work on the back burner for a bit to enjoy all that nature has created over the past few weeks. I love Spring. It's a time to renew... start fresh... shake off the layers of clothes needed for Winter... feel the warmth of the sun... Just Breathe in all the natural beauty and inspiration God has given us. Below are a few of the photos from my walk. I hope you can find a moment to enjoy the natural beauty in your own back yard or neighborhood.
Have a lovely weekend, friends!
xoxo

Color Palette: Pretty Peonies

I am a huge fan of Instagram. It reminds me of a more intimate and visual twitter in my humble opinion. While browsing instagram this afternoon I came across a photo by Kelley Moore. "Pretty Peonies" was a wonderful inspiration for this week's Spring color palette. Thank you Kelley! When you get a moment, stop by Kelley's site and follow her on twitter as well.

Roses from the Market

I'm loving the colors found in these roses I photographed at the market a couple of weeks ago. Perfect for a sunny color palette!

Color Palette: "double impatiens"

I took this photo last summer. I plant double impatiens in the garden every year. They remind me of tiny roses. With Spring just weeks away, I thought I would create a color palette from this photo. I'm growing impatient for my double impatiens. (pun fully intended!) What's flowers are planted in your garden each year?

Happy leap day!

Happy Valentine's Day... with a printable

Hello, and Happy Valentine's Day friends! I've been celebrating Valentine's Day (so to speak) for the last two months. It started for me with new designs for the special occasion. This year I launched 4 new greeting cards in my etsy and my dot com shop. I also created a couple of color palettes here on my blog and I organized a Valentine Card Swap with several people via twitter & facebook. Today I'm capping off this "holiday of love" with a free printable for the kids (or kid at heart).

Do you remember making paper fortune tellers when you were a kid? I have distinct memories of sitting on the school bus with friends, making and playing with those little paper goodies. Well today I've created one with a Valentine theme. And in case you've either forgotten how to fold one, or never knew how to fold one, I've included step by step instructions. To download your own copy, simply click here. Print on 8.5" x 11" printer paper with settings on borderless.

I wish to thank all of those who participated in my Valentine Card Swap! I hope you had fun giving and receiving your Valentine Goodies. I'll be posting a Valentine's Day follow up Wednesday!
Hugs & Kisses,
Patti

Today's Palette: "Pomegranate Pinks"

With Valentine's Day just around the corner, I chose a palette from the pomegranate I cut for today's snack. Don't you just love the range of ruby reds, pinks and creams? This photo can also be found as day 29 of The 366 Project.

Inspiration from the Garden

I recently entered a design contest hosted by Invitation Buzz. Invitation Consultants sponsored the "You Choose the Event" contest and I happened to have won! My inspiration for the winning design: Pink & Orange found in the garden.

Below, you can see the winning invitation as well as two more designs that were inspired by this summer's hottest color combination!
