We started with a warm golden color on the walls. It was nice. I liked it, but I wanted an update.
The new color is "Storm" by Benjamin Moore.
The color looks great in day light or evening light.
Even though it's a "cool" tone, I still think the room is warm.
I've been wanted to change the honey oak banisters since the day we moved in!
Finally... Now they're stained Espresso.
And the back stairway, which features a family wall, looks great with the grey color.
It's amazing what a little paint will do for a room. Feels so fresh and new!
I painted my studio as well. I'll share those photos next week. I still need to hang a few things.
So what do you think? Paint is good, yes? It's such an easy way to change a look. And this was done over the course of 5 workdays. Not too long to live in chaos (though it feels that way at the time).
If you've done some sprucing up using paint or stain, let me know about it! Do you have before/after photos on your blog or on Pinterest perhaps? Give me a link in the comments below. Happy Painting!

Love love! It's amazing what some paint can do. I can't wait for us to have our first home and paint the heck out of it! I'm thinking a bright yellow kitchen? ;) Also, love the photo wall!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Marnely! It's great how big of a change fresh paint can bring :)
DeleteThere are warm grays and I think you have one there. It's lovely. I adore what you did with your banisters. You have inspired me. RubyBeets/Crystal

Very nice, Patti!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Cheryl!
DeleteI love the fresh paint and the banister is beautiful. Very good choice on the dark stain. Your house looks so warm and inviting!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the blog love, Kristen :)
DeleteYour words are so kind! I'm definitely going for "warm and inviting"!

So fun, fresh, and pretty! I live for a good remodeling project, especially a low cost one :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the darker color on the banister, and your photo wall is inspiring me to hang some photos of my own. Since we majorly remodeled our house almost 3 years ago, I have yet to put much up on the walls...
I do have a new project to share though soon...Got a giant magnetic chalboard hung up over the loveseat in our hallway alcove and added some hooks for hanging coats and purses too. Feeling SO....organized now!
Enjoy your mini remodel!!!
