It's Just A Little Paint

We'll have lived in our home for 12 years, as of January 31. I was feeling like I needed a change but didn't want to spend a ton of money. Paint is always the answer, right? If you follow me on Twitter and Instagram, you might have seen some of these photos. I thought for fun I'd post the "before & after" photos all together. I love how dramatic a paint change can be!

We started with a warm golden color on the walls. It was nice. I liked it, but I wanted an update.
The new color is "Storm" by Benjamin Moore.

The color looks great in day light or evening light.
Even though it's a "cool" tone, I still think the room is warm.

I've been wanted to change the honey oak banisters since the day we moved in!
Finally... Now they're stained Espresso.

And the back stairway, which features a family wall, looks great with the grey color.
It's amazing what a little paint will do for a room. Feels so fresh and new!

I painted my studio as well. I'll share those photos next week. I still need to hang a few things.

So what do you think? Paint is good, yes? It's such an easy way to change a look. And this was done over the course of 5 workdays. Not too long to live in chaos (though it feels that way at the time).

If you've done some sprucing up using paint or stain, let me know about it! Do you have before/after photos on your blog or on Pinterest perhaps? Give me a link in the comments below. Happy Painting!

xoxo

  4. So fun, fresh, and pretty! I live for a good remodeling project, especially a low cost one :-)

Love the darker color on the banister, and your photo wall is inspiring me to hang some photos of my own. Since we majorly remodeled our house almost 3 years ago, I have yet to put much up on the walls...

I do have a new project to share though soon...Got a giant magnetic chalboard hung up over the loveseat in our hallway alcove and added some hooks for hanging coats and purses too. Feeling SO....organized now!

    Enjoy your mini remodel!!!
