Easton Place Basics: October

Ok. There's no denying it any longer. Summer has moved on and New England's Autumn is proudly showing her beauty. October happens to be my favorite month of the year. Not only are the Autumn temperatures comfortable and nature's colors ever changing, but it happens to be my birthday month AND the month I married my best friend, Matthew.

I'm celebrating my favorite month by starting a new series: Easton Place Basics. Each month I'll put together a collection of seasonal goodies and a little dash of Easton Place love in the mix as well. I hope you enjoy it!

Cheers to Autumn and October! This month's newest items to the shop are new placemat designs perfect for all the upcoming holidays: Halloween, Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, Christmas & New Year!

Happy October!

Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!

Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel would have been 108 today! In honor of one of the great authors and motivators, I've created this little bit of motivation. A printable quote by the great Theodore Seuss himself!
Just click here and print at home.

As many of my readers know, I lovingly refer to my two boys as Thing 1 and Thing 2. As a family, we've been a fan of the Dr. Seuss books for many years. It's so touching to watch my boys now read their Dr. Seuss books to their little cousins.

What are your favorite Dr. Seuss books and quotes? Do share in the comments below!

xoxo

Happy 1st Birthday, Easton Place Designs! (And first giveaway!!)

The following is an excerpt from the first blog post on the original Easton Place Designs' Blog (July 2, 2010):

William Arthur Ward said:

“If you can imagine it you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it.”

"It is with great joy that I announce the Official opening of Easton Place Designs online store! I have imagined and dreamed of this day for quite a few years. Today I achieve it and now become the proud owner of my very own stationery shop....Today I celebrate, with you, the Grand Opening of my new store! Thank you to all of you who’ve encouraged me, promoted me and at times pushed me to stay on track."

It has been an absolutely wonderful year full of growth, knowledge, lessons and many successes. I've gained wholesale clients, international clients, U.S. clients near and far. I've expanded my brand to include a full line of Paper Lovelies for Baby as well as Graphic Design. Most recently I started a monthly newsletter to stay in touch with friends and "fans" of Easton Place Designs. Perhaps my greatest treasure found over the past 12 months are the many wonderful lifelong friends I've made through sales, facebook and twitter. I couldn't have asked for a better first year online.

As a celebratory "Thank You / Birthday Gift", I'm offering a pack of 12 greeting cards (one for each month my .com site has been open) from EastonPlaceDesigns.com to one lucky winner!! And to top it off, the winner can choose which cards they receive. The winner can choose 12 of the same card or  an assortment etc. Here's what you need to do to enter: (yes... you have to participate a bit to get a spot at winning)

Another Month, Another Party!

We have finally settled down from our recent grand event; my first born's Bar Mitzvah! But that doesn't mean we can let our party-planning guard down. My younger son's birthday is today so we are, once again, preparing for another party! When I was pregnant with my second son, I knew the delivery was going to be via cesarian-section. My Ob/Gyn wanted to schedule the delivery for the last week of May since the baby was of healthy weight and all signs were as good as could be. But I wanted each child to have "their own birthday month". I look back at that silly request and just laugh. Oh, well...

Here we are, 11 years later, and we're ready to tackle the next adventure! So hard to believe my little guys are 13 and 11 now. How time most certainly flies! Happy birthday "Thing 2"! In a few weeks we'll be hosting another motley crew of boys. Look out neighbors! The boys are back in town!!!
